Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kullu and Transfer to Gushaini

Arrive at Bhuntar Airport near Kullu. From there, you’ll be transferred to Gushaini, a picturesque village that serves as the gateway to the GHNP.  Settle in and spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude and exploring the surrounding area.

Day 2Trek to Rolla

Begin your trek into the Great Himalayan National Park, starting from Gushaini. The trail winds through dense forests and alongside the Tirthan River.  The trek to Rolla, a beautiful meadow within the park, is relatively easy and offers a gentle introduction to the wilderness.

Day 3Trek to Shilt Thatch

Today’s trek takes you to Shilt Thatch, a higher altitude meadow offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The trail becomes steeper as you ascend, but the breathtaking scenery makes it worthwhile.

Day 4Explore the Park and Return to Shilt Thatch/Rolla

Spend the day exploring the diverse flora and fauna of the GHNP.  You’ll have the opportunity to spot various species of birds and, if you’re lucky, perhaps even catch a glimpse of some of the park’s elusive wildlife.  Return to your campsite at Shilt Thatch or Rolla in the evening.

Day 5Trek back to Gushaini

Begin your descent back to Gushaini. The downhill trek is generally easier and faster.  Enjoy the last glimpses of the park’s beauty as you make your way back to the village.
