The journey takes you through picturesque landscapes, gradually ascending into the heart of the Himalayas. Check into your guesthouse or homestay in Lohajung upon arrival.
After breakfast, begin your trek from Lohajung to Didna Village. This trek is a moderate introduction to the trail, passing through charming villages and offering glimpses of local life. Didna is a small, traditional village where you’ll experience the warmth and hospitality of the mountain people. Overnight stay in tents or homestays.
Today’s trek takes you to the stunning Ali Bugyal, one of the most beautiful high-altitude meadows in the region. The trail ascends through forests and opens up to breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Ali Bugyal offers a vast expanse of rolling grasslands, a truly mesmerizing sight. Camp overnight in Ali Bugyal.
Continue your trek from Ali Bugyal to Bedni Bugyal, another magnificent meadow offering panoramic views of the Himalayas. The trail is relatively easier compared to the previous day, allowing you to soak in the beauty of the landscape. Bedni Bugyal is known for its serene atmosphere and stunning sunsets. Camp overnight in Bedni Bugyal.
This is the most challenging yet rewarding day of the trek. After an early start, begin your trek to Roopkund. The trail becomes steeper and more rugged as you approach the lake. Roopkund itself is a small glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The mystery of the skeletons adds an ethereal touch to the beauty of the lake. Spend some time at the lake, capturing its beauty and absorbing its mystique. Trek back to Bedni Bugyal for overnight stay.
Begin your descent back to Lohajung. The trail follows a different route, offering new perspectives of the landscape. The trek is long but mostly downhill, making it relatively easier. Reach Lohajung in the evening and check into your guesthouse or homestay.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Lohajung. Later, embark on your drive back to Kathgodam for your onward journey, carrying with you unforgettable memories of your Roopkund trek.
